The art department was founded in 2008 with musical performance, editing of radio, television, and animation design majors. The art department is the youngest, most distinctive and dynamic. There exist 44 professional teachers in the art department. Professor Zhang Huiyuan, an art consultant, is the renowned music educator in Heilongjiang Province. The art department has received great support from the college in the teaching input, and there are multimedia classrooms, computer rooms, and rooms for practicing the piano, which are totally 45 classrooms. There is a standard studio used for teaching, experimenting, practicing, and scientific research, film and television viewing hall, broadcasting studio, recording studio, dressing room, photographic studio, drawing room, art room, apple studio, network art design studio, two-dimensional animation, 3D animation, non-linear editing room, linear editing room, the Betaca broadcast video recording system, professional level DVCAM recording and editing system, oceanic non-linear editing system, new auto virtual studio system and equipment with the support of the experiment, a film studio, animation studio, digital art and design studio and reading room. |

Although the department of art is young, it has mature thinking and measures in fostering students, and has made gratifying achievements. Sun Xuan, a student in the department of art won third prize in the forty-second session of the Italy Bellini International Vocal Competition held in Beijing in July, 2011. She went to Rome, Milan, Parma City, to join a number of competitions, and won the second prize in the third session of the Rome Arts Festival Vocal Competition finals in October, 2011. In July 2011, 7 students won the first, second and third prizes respectively in the student group in "the first art education achievement in Heilongjiang Province Research Appraisal" held by the Cultural Department of Heilongjiang Province. |
